Situated near to the Stubai glacier, Neustift is the most well-known and at the same time most visited village of the valley.



The surrounding scenery of mountain peaks is breathtaking. The Elfer - lifts take hikers, climbers, bikers and paragliders up into beautiful heights directly by the village.

Situated at the bottom of the Stubaivalley, Neustift attracts visitors through a number of nature trails and adventure paths.

The widely-dispersed community area of Neustift begins about 4 km from Fulpmes, reaching deep into the glacier regions both in the Unterberg - as well as the Oberberg - valley;the highest point, reaching 3505m and situated on the border to Italy, is the Zuckerhütl, in the main crest of the Stubai Alps.

The size of the community is, after Sölden, the second largest in Tyrol and the third largest in Austria.
The area is divided in Neustift-village, Scheibe, Kampl, Neder, Schmieden, Milders, Schaller, Krößbach, Gasteig, Volderau, Falbeson, Ranalt, Mutterberg, Oberbergtal ,Herrengasse, Obergasse and Rain.

In Harmony with Nature
The skiing and mountaineering village Neustift is the community centre, rich in tradition and dominated by the mighty village church .It spreads out on the alluvial fan of the Bachervalley. The view is all-embracing, and enjoyed best from the banks on the left side of the valley.
In the backdrop of the valley you catch sight of the Paffengroup, flanked by the Mair - and Brennerpeak, in the south the limestone towers of the Elfer-and Zwölferpeak rise on top of a primary rock base, that serve as a sundial for the Neustift community.

Turn your eyes outwards from the valley, and you catch sight of the beautifully formed mountains of the Serleskamm. A wide- stretched view from the Hochnißl to Schwaz in the lower Innvalley. Near Neder the beautiful, romantic Pinnisvalley, with exquisite mountain pastures, opens up from the south. The well-known Innsbruck hut, lies in the middle of a grand mountain scenery at the Pinnisjoch (2369m).
In the west, the mighty Habicht (3277m) protrudes, one of the most beautiful mountains in the country.
